How Pine Furniture Enhances Your Home

When we think of pines, several images come to mind: the fragrance of pine, which is clean and refreshing, beautiful pine cones, and Christmas trees. However, there is much more to pinewood than that. When it comes to home decorating, pine furniture is a great idea. It looks good, is durable, and pine furniture is usually of top quality. Therefore, if you are prepared to pay a little extra and kit your house out with pine furniture, you will find it to be a worthwhile investment because you will probably not need to replace it for quite some time.

The cost of pine, however, does vary depending on where you live. For example, pine furniture is very standard in Scandinavian countries but would be far less common in many other parts of the world.

So what kinds of pine furniture are out there?

Let’s go room by room and see what you could put there. In the living room, you could buy pine cupboards, bookcases, a breakfront, and a table. As pine is quite a neutral color, the color scheme of your living room can be more or less what you want. All of this furniture looks the best if it is nicely varnished. In many homes, the floorboards are also made from pine. Once again, they should be varnished, but you might want to use an area rug to make the room look a little less Spartan. A good floral rug will always look good in these circumstances, adding a little color.

The kitchen is another great place for pine. If you have a sufficient budget, purchase cupboards made from good, strong pine. Pine cupboards are elegant, durable, and will probably last forever. Apart from making your kitchen look absolutely beautiful, they also add a cozy, homelike touch to a kitchen – just looking at a picture of pine kitchen cupboards you can almost smell the bread baking in the oven or taste the apple pie that was just made there! Add pretty lace curtains to enhance the look, and a modern area rug.

In the bedroom, you can use pine cupboards for your clothing, as well as a chest of drawers, and you can even purchase beds made from pine. Your curtains, bedding, and soft furnishings can be any color, because pine is so neutral looking. Here, for a soft touch, add a natural flokati rug, which is a luxurious way to get out of bed in the mornings.

You could even use pine in the bathroom for the cabinets, although this is slightly less common than any of the other usages described above.

Throughout your house, pine shelving can be used for storing your belongings. It will blend in with any other décor and will never look out of place.

Whether or not you can afford pine furniture is a very individual decision that depends on your circumstances and where you are. However, if you do decide to buy pine furniture, you know that you can’t go wrong as it is such high quality and so durable.
