Eighty percent of women are rumored to be wearing the wrong brasize. That’s eight out of ten! They are facing discomfort andback pain that are unnecessary. Whether you are wearing yourbras for supportive comfort, sex appeal, or nursing, it needs tofit right for it to function properly. There are what seems like hundreds of companies that manufactureand sell bras, and there are just about as many sizingdiscrepancies. Bras are just like any other clothing item. Eachcompany’s sizes are slightly different. The right size bra ismore important than other apparel items, due to the nature ofthe product.Getting properlysized for your bra can be accomplished in a couple ways.Lingerie stores will size your bra on your next trip to theirstore. Unfortunately, many women feel uncomfortable having astranger size them. Many women are now turning to internet lingerie stores for theirshopping. Online intimate apparel companies embrace the webbecause it creates a unique format for their customers. Womenlike to shop online for bras, panties, and stockings. It isdiscrete and convenient.Shopping online does create a problem with sizing. Since you arenot entering the store to be sized, you have to take it uponyourself to get the right measurements. There is a simpleequation for finding your proper bra size. Even though manycompanies will vary in size, it is still the best option. Thesteps are easy:

  • Find a tailor’s tape for the measurement.
  • Measurearound the ribcage, just under the breasts. This is the numberportion of the size. For example, it is the “34” in the size“34C.”
  • Measure around the breasts at the fullest part.Leave about half inch slack for comfort.
  • Add fiveinches to the second number.
  • Subtract first number fromthe second measurement number.

The difference between the first and second number is the cupsize. If there is no difference, the bra cup size is “A”. Oneinch is a “B” size; two inch difference is a “C” cup, and so on.Bra sizes are A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, and G. Some companieshave developed half sizes for those that are trapped in between. The right sizebra will not feel tight, ride up in the back, or leaveimprints in the skin from clasps or straps. When you are wearing the right size bra, you’ll notice thedifference. Just remember that your size will change over time.Common causes of changes in size are:

  • Fluctuations in weight – five pounds is enough
  • Pregnancy
  • Changes in muscle tone – starting orstopping and exercise routine

Your body is constantly changing, so just make sure that you aretaking your bra size into consideration. It is important to getremeasured about every year, or when there are obvious reasonsto do so. Your body is worth exact fit. It won’t cost any more, just some time.
